Cashmere Care

Cashmere is very luxurious and delicate material. To have it last for years it needs to be cleaned properly and cared for.
Follow these few simple steps to keep your cashmere scarves nice and soft.

CLEANING

1. Get it professionally dry-cleaned.

2. Clean by hand.

Carefully hand-wash your scarf using a delicate shampoo (such as baby shampoo).

Soak your cashmere in cold water (never in hot water!) and gently wash the item. Don't stretch or scrub while washing.

Rinse and let it dry naturally. Gently press the water out of the wet scarf, smooth it out on a clean towel and dry flat.

DO NOT wring or twist your cashmere as this will damage the delicate fibers.

DO NOT put your cashmere in a dryer it will shrink and get damaged. Heat is very bad for cashmere.

PILLING

Pilling is a natural process even for high quality cashmere. When your cashmere is new, it may appear to pill a little bit to remove the excess fiber. Pills are the little balls of fiber that start to gather on your scarf typically in areas where there is friction.

Pilling will reduce over time and your cashmere will feel even softer.  One common way to stop or reduce pilling in the beginning is to carefully hand-wash or professionally dry-clean your cashmere.

STORING

Protect your scarf by storing it in closet or drawer.  Make sure your cashmere is clean and completely dry before storing.
Keep your cashmere scarves away from heat or direct sunlight to preserve color. If you need to straight out a crease, use an iron on the lowest heat.
